Our client is a nationally recognized leader in Business Purpose Lending, ranked among the top producers in the U.S. Backed by a well-capitalized parent organization with more than $60B in assets under management, the company benefits from exceptional financial stability and long-term capital relationships that include major life insurers, REITs, and global investment funds.

The Retail Loan Officer will originate a diverse mix of business purpose loans, working directly with real estate investors, flippers, builders, and developers. This role focuses on relationship-driven retail production (not wholesale), with the ability to structure complex scenarios and guide borrowers through multiple investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate a full suite of Business Purpose Loan products, including Fix & Flip, Bridge, Ground-Up Construction, Multi-Property Loans, and long-term rental DSCR options.

  • Work directly with real estate investors, builders, and developers to understand project needs, recommend loan structures, and manage complex scenarios.

  • Build and expand relationships across assigned territories with a strong emphasis on the Rocky Mountain, Midwest, Southeast, and East Coast regions.

  • Leverage internal scenario support teams to pre-evaluate borrower needs and match the appropriate loan products.

  • Manage pipelines of larger loan balances, with individual properties funded up to $10M and multi-asset portfolios up to $20M+ (and growing).

  • Educate borrowers on unique product offerings, including one-time-close solutions for flips converting to bridge loans.

  • Utilize company-provided lead databases as desired to accelerate production.

  • Represent the company professionally within the investor and builder community while adhering to credit and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of originating retail investor loans (Fix & Flip, Bridge, Construction, DSCR, or similar). A blend of retail/wholesale is acceptable, but at least 50% retail is required.

  • Consistent monthly loan production of $6–7M+; higher volumes strongly preferred.

  • Market concentration outside of California (≤50% CA production to be considered).

  • Strong borrower network across East Coast, Southeast, Midwest, Texas, or Rocky Mountain regions.

  • Experience working with complex investor projects including ground-up construction, luxury flips, multi-property portfolios, and small-to-mid-size development projects.

  • Ability to structure loans up to $10M+ per asset, with comfort managing high-balance investor relationships.

  • Knowledge of investor loan guidelines, construction budgets, and project feasibility.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner closely with internal scenario teams and credit leadership.
