The Human Resources Manager will serve as the sole owner of HR operations, building and scaling foundational HR processes across the organization. This hands-on, execution-oriented role requires an experienced HR professional who can independently manage the full employee lifecycle, compliance, payroll, and benefits programs while acting as a trusted partner to leadership and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all HR administrative functions and day-to-day operations, serving as the primary point of contact for employee-related matters.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and workflows to support company growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, EEOC, OSHA), including audits, regulatory filings, and recordkeeping (I-9s, personnel files, retention).
  • Own end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, including tax withholding, garnishments, deductions, and reconciliation with Finance.
  • Administer all employee benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement), manage open enrollment, and serve as primary liaison with brokers and carriers.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, status changes, promotions, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee data and HR systems and build reporting dashboards and workforce metrics for leadership.
  • Develop employee handbooks, forms, and HR procedures as part of building scalable HR infrastructure.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience administering payroll and employee benefits programs, including multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing HR operations end-to-end.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, and a proven ability to build HR processes from the ground up.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; discretion with confidential information.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification and experience in a fast-growing, multi-state organization preferred.
