Role Summary
The Chief Financial Officer is a key strategic, financial, and operational leader and a primary partner to the CEO. This role drives business strategy, operational excellence, and profitability in a dynamic, margin-sensitive mortgage environment. The CFO will build and lead a forward-looking, data-driven Finance function that acts as a true business partner, accelerating execution and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, business analytics, and executive reporting
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on profitability, pricing, margin management, and operating efficiency
- Partner with production leadership on branch, channel, and product-level economics, pricing strategies, and incentive structures
- Provide financial oversight of mortgage servicing and related functions, ensuring strong performance measurement, controls, and reporting discipline
- Lead, develop, and retain a multi-layered Finance organization (~35 professionals), fostering accountability, speed, and business partnership
- Oversee control functions to ensure all public filings, internal controls, including SOX and Internal Audit procedures, as well as management reporting is executed through a structured and integrated set of protocols to ensure stand-alone business reporting requirements are met and parent company requirements are met in a timely manner
- Drive continuous improvement and modernization of finance processes, analytics, and decision support through close cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications, Experience desired
- Senior finance leadership experience within mortgage lending or closely related financial services
- Deep expertise in FP&A, forecasting, modeling, and executive-level financial reporting
- Strong understanding of mortgage origination, production economics, servicing, and regulatory considerations
- Proven experience leading complex finance teams in scaled, multi-stakeholder environments
- Ability to balance strong governance and controls with speed, pragmatism, and execution
- Demonstrated success leading organizations through change and process evolution
