The client is a national leader in private real estate lending, specializing in fix-and-flip, bridge, and construction financing. Backed by a strong capital base and decades of experience, the firm is known for its speed, reliability, and data-driven approach, supporting investors across the country.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive broker acquisition and relationship development within the wholesale/broker channel. This role is 100% focused on sourcing, signing, and nurturing broker partners—not originating loans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, recruit, and onboard new wholesale/broker partners across target markets.
  • Build and manage long-term broker relationships to drive consistent loan flow.
  • Educate brokers on products—including Fix & Flip, Bridge, Ground-Up Construction, and DSCR/Rental programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for broker engagement, pipeline needs, and partnership development.
  • Introduce active broker loan opportunities to the inside Operations team, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Maintain a disciplined outbound prospecting cadence to expand broker coverage.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to leadership on broker trends, competition, and product needs.
  • For broker LOs (if applicable): Assist with loan packaging, document collection, appraisal coordination, and communication to keep files moving efficiently through the system.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, operations, and leadership teams to enhance broker experience and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in private lending, real estate investor lending, or wholesale/broker channel development.
  • Strong broker network preferred; proven ability to build and expand third‑party relationships.
  • Knowledge of Fix & Flip, Bridge, Ground-Up Construction, and DSCR/Rental lending programs.
  • High outbound activity orientation—comfortable with prospecting, pitching, and relationship development.
  • Excellent communication, follow‑through, and organizational skills.
