Our client is a diversified alternative asset management firm specializing in real estate credit and structured finance. Through its lending subsidiary, the company provides funding for residential transition loans and other mortgage debt products, combining institutional capital with disciplined underwriting and strategic execution. The firm partners with investors across mortgage debt, asset-based lending, and real estate strategies to deliver consistent, risk-adjusted returns.

The RTL Loan Processor will manage a pipeline of mortgage loans from submission through closing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This individual plays a pivotal role in supporting both sales and underwriting functions, coordinating documentation, and maintaining proactive communication with borrowers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to underwriting and closing.
  • Communicate effectively with loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, and closing teams to ensure timely resolution of outstanding conditions.
  • Collect, verify, and upload required documentation, including income, assets, and disclosures.
  • Monitor loan pipelines daily to meet closing timelines and maintain service-level expectations.
  • Coordinate appraisal, title, insurance, and other third-party services to support loan processing.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, investor guidelines, and federal/state mortgage regulations.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and escalate as needed to maintain loan quality and efficiency.
  • Support process improvements that enhance borrower experience and operational performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of mortgage loan processing experience (conventional, FHA, VA, or non-QM preferred) if 2+ years RTL experience, can be fully remote.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage documentation, underwriting guidelines, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Encompass or similar loan origination systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
