The Retail Sales Leader will be responsible for building, leading, and scaling a high-performing retail sales organization during a critical growth phase. This is a senior leadership role designed for an experienced people manager, not a producing originator, who excels at recruiting, developing, and motivating sales talent while aligning execution with long-term strategy, credit discipline, and company vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, recruit, and lead a scalable retail sales organization aligned with growth objectives and company culture
- Attract experienced sales leaders and producers while developing and mentoring emerging talent
- Establish clear sales structure, performance metrics, accountability, and coaching cadence
- Partner closely with underwriting, credit, operations, and capital markets to ensure loan quality and execution
- Drive sustainable volume growth while maintaining strong credit standards and portfolio performance
- Serve as a culture carrier, reinforcing values, mindset, and long-term vision across the sales organization
- Identify and expand geographic opportunities, including underserved or overlooked markets
- Support executive leadership in evaluating strategic partnerships and acquisition-driven talent opportunities
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and scaling sizeable sales teams within mortgage, private lending, or adjacent financial services
- Background as a regional or divisional sales leader ready for a broader, enterprise-level leadership role
- Demonstrated success recruiting, hiring, and retaining top-performing sales talent
- Hands-on people manager with a coaching-first, performance-driven leadership style
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance growth, discipline, and culture
- Product-specific expertise is less critical than leadership ability, cultural alignment, and growth orientation
